A chilly morning didn’t stop nearly 2,000 runners from participating in the Clean Air Council’s 5K Run for Clean Air this past weekend. Following the pre-run yoga stretch in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum, runners completed a picturesque route along the banks of the Schuylkill River.
Adding to the excitement, Chevrolet was on-site offering Ride & Drives with a pair of brand-new electric Chevy Volts, the 2011 North American Car of the Year. Monica Murphy, a GM engineer, was also at the run to talk to green enthusiasts about the technology behind the Volt and GM’s vision for the future of electric driving.
Drivers, most of whom were experiencing an electric car for the first time, raved about the smooth ride and the engine’s unexpected power. Check out the video below for race highlights and some great testimonials!

Normally, I like cars to make noise when they come up behind me. Thankfully, the Volt has a built in Pedestrian warning. Now I can have a quiet ride and not worry about hitting grandma!
This was a great run! Thanks!
