Cars and Conversation to Celebrate the New York Auto Show
Cadillac and GM Diversity Communications team hosted a unique event for LGBT influencers during the public days of the New York International Auto Show. Working closely with the hosts of the Sirius/XM show The Six Pack (www.sixpackradio.com), they identified 40 LGBT influential professionals that work in media, fashion, music and public service and invited them for a hosted tour of the show.
While the tour was sponsored by Cadillac and began with the very sexy ATS and SRX, the tour guides were not Cadillac or GM employees. Rather, the tour was hosted by three out gay automotive writers – from Automobile Magazine (automobilemag.com), Gaywheels.com (gaywheels.com) and High Gear Media’s Green Car Reports (greencarreports.com).
The guests enjoyed an unbiased tour of the entire auto show and learned along the way that GM is not only a gay-friendly company, but confident enough in our products to let third-party experts compare us to the best from our competitors.
The evening ended with cocktails at a local venue and conversation about the tour. For many of the guests, it was their first time at an auto show and a reintroduction to products from Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC and Buick.
