Not your typical lunch break! Many who work for the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) spent the hours of 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on October 5 enjoying their annual Green Living Event and test driving the Chevy Volt.
Held at their Rockville, Md. headquarters, the Green Living Event was a fun way to teach ASHA’s staff of 250 people and special invited guests how to be more eco-conscious in their work environment, getting to and from work and while at home. The Chevy Cruze was on display and the Chevy Volt was available to attendees to test drive. The event also featured “green” products for sale, a sampling of organic food and eco-presentations.
Chevrolet was happy to participate and the ASHA employees were excited to hear about the many ways the Volt and Cruze are both environmentally and economically friendly. “I just can’t believe how smart the Volt is on top of how much people save on gas,” said one employee. Chevy Volt owner and friend of ASHA, Ivan Higgins was there to talk to people about his own personal experiences with the Volt. “I probably haven’t bought gas now in about two months! It’s also more comfortable than any car I’ve ever owned,” the WTTG FOX 5 News Technical Director proudly shared.
Once the first batch of ASHA employees came out, emails started buzzing throughout the headquarters about the Chevy Volt being outside and available for test drives. The Green Living Event was the highlight of the day and numerous employees enjoyed coming out from behind their desks to take the Volt for a quick spin around ASHA’s massive parking lot and learning about the amazing miles-per-gallon of the Chevy Cruze.
