Looking for a weekend of absolute peace and tranquility?  Maybe a weekend where you can escape the urban jungle and disappear off the grid?  If you’re not ready for the full Swiss Family Robinson quite yet, make sure to check out the smaller islands of Cape Cod, more specifically Cuttyhunk.

New York Times writer Laura House spent a week with her family getting lost in the islands sleepy charm.  While on the island they stayed at the Fishing Club, a quaint little estate that is the focus of the town.  Once you’re situated, get lost like Laura and her family did exploring the small island.  If the sun’s out make it a priority to enjoy an ocean view picnic.  If you’re a fan of fishing, the island makes the perfect refuge for a weekend of angling.

No matter how you look at the island, it makes for the perfect weekend getaway.  Make sure to enjoy it before it gets too cold.
