On Thursday evening, the GM Northeast team and the Chevrolet Volt and Sonic joined the ladies and guests of Women In Technology (WIT) for its 2012 Tech Expo at the Hilton in Rockville, Md. The Tech Expo brought together not only the women of WIT but also leaders and special guests from the surrounding community, including the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development.
GM’s Monica Murphy, Manager, Advanced Technology for Demonstration Programs for the Eastern Region, was on hand to accompany expo guests for test drives in the Chevrolet Volt and Sonic. Monica had this to say about the expo, “I enjoyed the Women In Technology Event, especially the opportunity to interface with other women to showcase our Advanced Technology Vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Sonic. Everyone seemed to enjoy the drive opportunity and the technological advancements GM has committed to our portfolio.” Monica was also a member of the expo’s speaker’s panel where she spoke about the innovative, game-changing technology behind the Volt, the new Ecologic label for the Sonic and the advanced technologies under development for future vehicles.
Guests were excited to get an opportunity to actually experience the ground-breaking technology we were showcasing with test drives of the Volt. To top off the night, the GM exhibit tied for “Best in Show” with Nuestar after guests voted last night. What an honor! Tech Expo exhibitors included: Booz Allen Hamilton, First Responder Technology, SAIC and DICOM Grid, Inc. among others.
