On Friday, Dec. 2, two brand new Chevrolet Sonics pulled into the Giant grocery store parking lots in Washington, D.C.’s Brentwood neighborhood and Rockville, Md., with a trunk full of food and goods to donate to the Capital Area Food Bank!
“Thank you [GM] for coming out today. This is really amazing,” said Christel Hair, Chief Development Officer of the Capital Area Food Bank. “Times are hard and you would not believe the amount of people who really need food right now.”
Capital Area Food Bank ambassador and television personality Paul Wharton graciously handed out Visa gift cards to GM vehicle owners, encouraging recipients to pay the random act of kindness forward by purchasing food from Giant and donating it to the food bank.
GM’s good deeds were not only highlighted by the Capital Area Food Bank, but also by WTTG FOX 5 News and 94.7 Fresh FM who featured the Sonics and Paul Wharton in live interviews.
