When Drew Davis drove into the TGIF Fridays restaurant parking lot in his brand new Chevrolet Cruze, he did not know what was in store. He had received a call from his dealer who told him that he could throw an all-expense-paid car warming bash for twenty of his friends.

Drew was excited but did not know if it was for real until he drove into the parking lot and saw his name flying high on a banner. He drove into a spot right in front of the restaurant that was especially reserved for him. When Drew read the banner that said, “Chevrolet’s Newest Reason to Celebrate – Drew Davis,” he knew this was happening for real.

Drew is one of the very few car buyers in D.C. who will be celebrating their new cars in style courtesy of a program hosted by the Chevrolet Dealers Association in Washington, D.C. Known as the Brag program, these car warming parties are hosted for new Cruze owners who get to invite up to 20 of their friends to a local TGIF or Ruby Tuesdays for food and non-alcoholic beverages worth $200. The owners have plenty of opportunity to not only show off their new car, but also talk about its cool features and celebrate their purchase in style.

Nearly 250 parties will be held for new Cruze buyers in the Washington, D.C., area between August 2011 and March 2012. With grassroots activities such as this, Chevrolet is utilizing a whole new marketing push to attract Millennials for whom everything in life is a celebration … as it should be of course!
