Each year the Lake George community hosts its annual Winter Carnival in celebration of the winter lifestyle and culture within the town. Typically, the carnival means a winter wonderland of snow and an ice-covered lake spanning just over 30 miles in length. This year, temperatures rose to a mild 35 degrees, melting away the festival’s coveted ice sculpture and making it a perfect day for a cruise around the Village in a General Motors vehicle.
As tourists and residents flocked to see events, such as the Chowder competition, fireworks and the always popular Polar Plunge, they were greeted by our GM Northeast team and fleet — which included the Chevrolet Cruze Eco, a Chevrolet Equinox, a GMC Terrain, a Buick Regal and the new Buick Verrano. The team welcomed the opportunity to introduce the town to the latest models as well as chat with a number of GM fans and owners about the models they own. Taking a spin around the block also meant having the chance to defrost limbs.
Although the chill in the air was evident to the GM Northeast team, who clung to their mittens and Chevy toboggan hats, residents were unphased by the winter air as they inquired about the Chevrolet brand’s famed Camaro and Corvette before taking a dive into the icy waters of the town’s namesake.
Lake George, thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality despite the chilly temperatures. We hope to see you again soon!
