As the summer draws to an end, the GM team wrapped up their Drive-in movie theater series at the West Rome Drive-in. This drive-in was particularly special to the Chevy team because of the history and heritage behind it. Often referred to as a “historical landmark” within the Rome community, the land in which the theater was built on was purchased by Davidson Auto Group, a GM auto dealer, in 2011. The acquisition had local residents up in arms as the theater held many fond memories given it had been open since 1951. Thanks to multiple Facebook groups and the generous intentions of Davidson Auto Group, the 14 acre site was purchased only to include a rejuvenated drive-in theater in addition to the Davidson GM dealership.
The GM team were on-site giving free admission to the first 50 Chevy’s that were in attendance and offered Ride and Drives in our convertible Camaro and Chevy Tahoe Hybrid. Prior to the screening, movie-goers also had chance to enter to win VIP seating in two Chevy Tahoes provided by Davidson Auto Group that were parked in VIP spots at the front of the Drive-in.
Many thanks to Davidson Auto Group and radio station, Big Frog 104 was also on-site offering giveaways and announced our VIP winners!
