This past weekend the GM team headed upstate to Albany for the McDonald’s African American Family Day at Empire State Plaza. Despite temperatures rising well into the 90’s, approximately 10,000 attendees came out to enjoy a day filled with food, live music and dance.
In years past, African American Family Day has been canceled due to low sponsorship, so GM was proud be one of the sponsors this year and offered Ride and Drives in the convertible Corvette, Chevy Cruze and Chevy Equinox on a one mile route around the outskirts of the plaza.
We had a great time enjoying a variety of food from vendors, including the most amazing fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade we’ve ever had. We also listened to live music from the famed Ohio Players and Grammy winner Evelyn “Champagne” King, in addition to local musicians, choirs and gospel groups. If that wasn’t enough, theater troupes performed, there was a double dutch contest and even pony rides for the kids!
