GM Northeast Helps Film Biz Recycling Stay Green with the Volt & Denali Hybrid

Over the weekend, the GM Northeast team partnered with Film Biz Recycling (FBR) to offer free shuttles to shoppers on a hot day. FBR is a nonprofit that creates socially responsible and sustainable solutions from entertainment industry waste. As part of its mission, it operates a prop shop full of donated items from movie and TV sets, including breakaway glass, furniture, signage and even faux food.
On Saturday FBR held a special sale for its customers. To help make customer commutes home easy on their feet and the environment, we offered rides in the Yukon Denali Hybrid and Volt. This was especially helpful since temperatures reached up into the 90s! GM also hosted ride and drives for shoppers who were eager to get behind the wheel. With a steady turnout all day, the cars were kept busy – and tired shoppers appreciated the lifts.
We were excited to partner with such a great cause – in fact, it seems we played our part so well, some customers even thought our energy efficient vehicles were included in the prop sale too! Check out this great short film from a week of helping:
