Chevrolet, Buick and GMC impressed the crowds with their competitive test drive program, Main Street in Motion, June 24-26 at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. Adding an extra twist for visitors, this Main Street in Motion event also featured special displays on safety, which highlighted General Motors’ use of technologies such as StabiliTrak, airbags, roof structures and rollover mitigation systems.
A Chevrolet Cruze that had been crashed at 40 mph at our General Motors Proving Ground in Michigan showcased just how well the vehicle withstood the impact, even when all the air-bags had been deployed. A Buick Enclave was sliced in half to illustrate the importance of roof structures, rollover mitigation and other important safety features.
The fan favorite was the GMC Terrain that demonstrated the importance of StabiliTrak through a live drive experience. Passengers were invited to ride with a certified racecar and safety driver who demonstrated the difference between a sudden swerve with StabiliTrak engaged and one with it deactivated. After experiencing both, people were able to see and feel just how important StabiliTrak is in their vehicle. Check out the videos below to see the difference.
