Cynné Simpson is an Emmy Award and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning anchor for ABC7/WJLA-TV and Co-Marshal for this year’s National Press Club BEAT THE DEADLINE 5K on June 9.
The GM Northeast team and I would like to say thanks to all those who submitted comments to become members of Team Chevy and those who’ve helped spread the word about the National Press Club (NPC) BEAT THE DEADLINE 5K on June 9. Co-Marshal Tony Horton and I are gearing up for a great race and fundraiser in support of diversity in journalism.
After reading all the thoughtful stories submitted by those interested in joining Team Chevy, the GM Northeast team had a tough time making selections. Every entry embodied the spirit behind the NPC Journalism Institute’s efforts to promote diversity within journalism.
So, I’m pleased to announce that all seven respondents who submitted an entry before the deadline yesterday were selected to join Team Chevy! Congratulations to Lisa Byrne, Molly B-E, Amy Sullivan, Matthew Difiore, Andrew Staroska, Eric Schramm and Debbie M. A representative from the GM Northeast team will be in contact with you shortly with more information about registration and logistics for race day.
I invite everyone to tune in to Good Morning Washington on WJLA-TV/ABC 7 Friday morning as Tony Horton & I prepare for race day! You can also check back here over the next couple of weeks to see photos of Team Chevy, Tony and I at the 5K.
Good luck to Team Chevy and all the runners coming out to support a great cause. See you Saturday!
