Today, we take a moment to reflect on the last 100 years of Chevrolet automotive history as we remember Nov. 3, 1911, the historic date Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant co-founded the Chevrolet Motor Company.

Over the past few months, we’ve shared fun facts about #Chevy100 trivia on Twitter, handed out centennial t-shirts to fans across the Northeast and encouraged you to share your real Chevrolet stories. Plus, Chevrolet launched its interactive Chevy100.com website, put several of its past and future classics to the test in a fan-driven head-to-head competition, and recently added two interactive web experiences: “The Road We’re On” and “The Ride of Your Life.” For more celebrations from the past year, please visit our media site.

But what we love most is hearing your Chevrolet memories! So a birthday surprise – anyone who posts a comment about their favorite Chevrolet story below will receive a Centennial prize pack to help us celebrate our next 100 years!

We also wanted to give a shout out to someone who has shared her real Chevrolet experience with us this year – Tara O’Grady. With 13 states and more than 6,000 miles crossed, she followed her Granny’s spirit and drove across the USA in a Chevrolet, recreating a trip originally made in 1957. We were thrilled to see her on the cover of Automotive News this week and inspired by the final video of her trip below.

Check out all the photos, videos and details of Tara’s amazing trip on her blog: http://tothemoontara.tumblr.com/.

We hope more of our Chevy fans share their experiences with us too. Happy 100th birthday, Chevrolet!

I have two favorite Chevy memories. The first is from when I was about 8 years old and my family decided to take a trip down to Tennessee. My dad had a Silverado with a cab so he manufactured a piece of plywood to fit over the bed so we could store our luggage under it. Then he put a mattress on top, added our sleeping bags and pillows, then filled the rest of the bed with our toys and even set up electric, a tv and a vcr. My brother and I had a blast on that long trip, watching movies and hanging out in our "camper".

My second favorite memory is when I was 16 and my dad purchased a '69 Z28 Camaro. Throughout the past 10 years my dad and I have spent lots of time restoring it and taking it to car shows. We love working on the car together and I'm excited to teach my daughter to love vintage cars as much as I do. She had her first ride in the Camaro when she was just 6 months old – even though it was loud she smiled and screamed in excitement. We're a Chevy family, a legacy I'm proud to pass on to my daughter.

Happy Birthday Chevy! My favorite Chevy moment is happening right now, we are driving a brand new Chevy Traverse from Boston MA all the way to New Orleans. We are attending the Manic Mommy Escape. We have driven 1,000 miles so far. Riding in this really nice vehicle has been a great opprotunity for me to bond with my mom and sister, and a close friend. This Roadtrip will be one I will never forget. Thanks Chevy, I love you. I can’t wait to see what the next 100 years will bring.

I love the Chevrolet Volt car model because it has many eco-friendly benefits. I think that it is the top rated fuel efficient car and the most-popular battery operated vehicle. The hood of this car is the recyclable parts made up of waste generated from cleaning up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The future car technology should focus on producing lot of eco-friendly model car which can effectively reduce the carbon emission.
