GM contributed to three local charities

The Pennsylvania Public Relations Society, along with the local chapters of the Public Relations Society of America and International Association of Business Communicators, gathered on Dec. 8 for a unique holiday social.

In addition to the usual networking and shop talk, this Harrisburg holiday social benefited three local charities – the Central PA Food Bank, Humane Society and Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Attendees brought donations with them to the event and after finishing dinner, tackled several craft projects like making dog biscuits, ornaments and wreaths to donate to the local non-profits. We were thrilled to help with an Equinox loan to transport all of the donations after this holiday social for a cause.

Making wreaths for delivery

At the end of the evening, we stuffed the Equinox with the following:

*  6 homemade wreaths for the York County Senior Companion program

*  125 non-perishable food items

*  230 donations to the VA Medical Center, including clothing, personal hygiene items and activity books

*  34 items to the Humane Society, ranging from dog blankets and leashes to cat food and toys

*  $150 in cash and gift card donations.
