It’s easy to be caught up in the stress of everyday life and not take time to pause and admire the small things like a long quiet drive through the mountains or on a road that parallels the ocean. As your week comes to a close plan to unwind this weekend with a calming drive. Whether it’s packing up the family in the Suburban or a drive by yourself in a Cadillac ATS take the wheel this weekend. Here are a few amazing drives in the Northeast that are sure to help you relax.
If you’re around The Cape in Massachusetts why not take a detour so your drive can include a trip down Route 6A. Not only does it offer beautiful views of the Ocean, but its lined with delicious restaurants to stop at for a pit stop. “Old King’s Highway” is a 34 mile stretch of harbors and pristine forest that is sure to delight.
If you’re in New York and up for a little trip why don’t you fall in love with driving all over again on scenic Route 28, a trip through the Adirondacks that will take your breath away. Route 28 is home to a plethora of timeless inn’s and inlets that’s sure to offer something for everyone.
While all these drives are beautiful, I am a Washingtonian at heart, so nothing can beat Rock Creek Parkway in DC. A beautiful road that runs through Northwest Washington, DC, Rock Creek Parkway skirts attractions like the National Mall and Zoo. Take a trip through Soap Stone Valley and stop at the waterfall by the newly renovated Pierce Mill. This is a drive people go out of their way to enjoy no matter what the season. This drive is worth going out of your way for.
Whatever drive you find relaxing, a trip through the country, or a spin about town. Take this weekend to really enjoy your car and fall in love with driving again.
