We hope you’ve enjoyed our celebration of the spunky Chevy Spark with a look at New York City through your sense of touch, taste, smell, and hearing. GM Northeast saved the best sense for last and today celebrates your sense of “sight” with a look at 4 of New York’s greatest views from every angle that are sure to get your senses tingling. We hope this really “sparks” your sense of sight!
-Metropolitan Museum of Art – While the MET is filled with beautiful art and exotic antiques the real treasure is on the roof. Open every day but Monday the MET has a hidden roof garden café and martini bar that offers breathtaking views of Central Park and beyond. Let your eyes wonder the varying skyline as you enjoy the late summer weather in the sunset.
-Central Park Boat House- Now that you’ve taken a good look and studied New York’s most engaging landscape take the short stroll over to the Central Park Boat House for a moment of bliss. During the afternoon, that magic hour between the hustle to/from lunch and before rush hour, snag your own moment of bliss sitting and watching the water at the Central Park Boat house. Tune out the noise and enjoy a moment within the Park that is reminiscent of Monet’s Water Lilies. For a few minute or so allow your eyes to dance across New York’s Shangri-La.
-Top of the Rock – Looking for a birds-eye view of Manhattan? Skip the lengthy and exhausting line at the Empire State Building for a more triumphant view of the city. Top of the Rock observation deck is located atop Rockefeller Center and offers three floors of outdoor decks for plenty of viewing space. Day or night, this is a site you will never forget.
-Chelsea Highline – 2 stories above the eclectic flavors of Chelsea Market lays a retired train track that has been wonderfully repurposed to create a mile stretch of visual heaven. From temporary art instillations, to a plethora of wild flora, the Highline is a beauty to behold. Walk above the trees from the Gansevoort Plaza all the way up to 30th street where you’ll get unique views of some of New York’s most beautiful buildings. For a truly intriguing site, go just above Chelsea Market where the amphitheater makes you feel like you’re hovering above the street. A camera must, this walk will offer sight you will remember forever.
Enjoy these experiences and make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Chevy Spark.
