Amy was selected by the GM Northeast team to be a part of Team Chevy for the National Press Club’s “Beat the Deadline” 5K and run in support for the NPC Journalism Institute’s scholarship program dedicated to promoting diversity in journalism.

What a great experience being a part of Team Chevy at the NPC 5k in Washington, D.C.! A group of us were guided to a special room to warm up with Tony Horton in the National Press Building. Tony walked in as if he came right out of the TV — his personality was everything I was hoping for, and more! He was funny, down to earth, and personable. He welcomed us and made us feel special to be a part of Team Chevy — what a cool opportunity to meet someone who I highly look up to! We got to take individual photos with Tony, chat with him a bit, and experience a warm up — the warm up went beyond loosening up our muscles and getting our hearts pumping. The warm-up showed how me how open and thankful Tony is to his fans and how he likes to connect with everyday people like me. I appreciated him taking the time to hang with us — and he even stayed to run in the race! Tony stayed after the race, chatted with runners, and made sure everyone got in a photo op. I am grateful to the National Press Club, P90X, and Chevy for allowing myself to be a part of this 5k in such a unique, and once in a lifetime way!
