Verano, Regal GS Take Center Stage for Boston Media

Buick NEMPA Event -- Danowski

Buick provided an up-close look at the Verano and Regal GS for the New England Motor Press Association at an event this week in Middleborough, Mass. Both cars continue a Buick renaissance that’s winning new customers to the brand.

Verano, all-new for 2012, may be a compact car, but it’s packed with luxury features. A Verano sliced in half showed how engineers were able to give the Verano the signature quiet-tuned Buick ride. You can’t see it from the outside of a production car, but the insides of the Verano are packed with special materials to block and absorb sound.

The Regal GS, dubbed the “athlete” of the Buick family, impressed NEMPA members with its performance. The 270-horsepower 2.0L turbo engine provides plenty of get-up-and-go. The HiPer Strut suspension offers exceptional cornering. And the front Brembo brake calipers keep it all under control.

Just how good is the Regal GS? It took home a win last year in the 120-mph Grand Touring class at the Silver State Classic Challenge. Bill Rietow, Regal GS lead development engineer, told NEMPA members that the competition was like an easy Sunday afternoon drive for the Regal GS.

A special thanks to NEMPA for letting us show off the new Buicks. A special thanks to Buick for bringing the cars and executives to Boston.
